There’s more to Sloth Pups than Super Soft Dog Collars

Since our sold-out market stall beginnings in 2022, Sloth Pups has stood for more than just stitching super soft dog collars and shipping them out. But before we became Sloth Pups, we were The Hazy Sloth. And before that, this was all just a self-taught creative outlet for me; pup lover and mum of two, Britney.

I didn’t start out sewing our signature soft dog collars

It all began with a lopsided bow that I proudly clipped onto our family dog’s collar. Oversized and more zig-zag than straight stitch, this first handmade creation represented finding myself amidst home life, new mum life and juggling-everything-life. 

Selling handmade cotton dog collars and leashes was only supposed to fund my (expensive) sewing addiction. My first ever customer purchased directly through our Instagram page for her pointer dog, quickly becoming devoted to our Sloth Pups accessories – along with many other fellow pup parents. Love and demand for our soft dog collars snowballed and the need for a website became obvious when we sold out at markets over and over again.

I realised our Sloth Pups customers share just as much passion for handmade (instead of mass produced), supporting small businesses and choosing quality accessories that don’t compromise on safety or stylishness – as I always have.

To this day, I am giddy with excitement when I see pups sporting our collars at cafes, along the beach or strolling around town – it’s these little moments that inspire me to keep growing Sloth Pups, creating more and kitting out our furry friends in the cutest (safest) accessories you can find!

    Handmade with Heart

    Every single collar and leash is measured, cut, folded, pressed and hand stitched here in Australia. We don’t mass-produce our accessories and we create mindfully – minimising our impact on the planet and encouraging thoughtful, sustainable shopping. We also give back to our furry friends by donating $1 to local animal charities with every order placed.

    Unique Prints Sourced by Sloth Pups

    We hand select limited edition fabrics and do quarterly drops because we know your pup gets just as much excitement out of the postie delivering an order – as you do tearing it open and snapping pics of their new matching set. This means our styles are always fresh, new and unique to us. Nobody likes a copycat!

    Safety First, Safety Always

    Some people assume that handmade means half-hearted. This couldn’t be more far-fetched! By keeping all of our design and construction in-house, we have complete control over every stitch, D-ring and snap hook. We only use zinc alloy break strength tested hardware and have conducted 72 hour salt water spray tests: because even Mastiffs deserve to look as cute and stylish as the Mini Cavoodles – without the risk of buckles breaking.
