STANDARD & CUSTOM DOG COLLAR AND LEASH SIZING
Dog Collars Sizes & Measuring Instructions
A stylish collar is a safe and well-fitted collar. This is why we offer both standard (Extra-Small to Large) and custom dog collars sizes. The paw-fect fit will look snug (with room to slide 2 fingers between the collar and their neck), stay comfortably in place without rotating or sliding around and allow your pup to move about freely – as they would without a collar.
How are dog collars measured?
We recommend measuring at the midway point between the base of your pup’s neck and their throat. Use a soft measuring tape or a piece of string to take the measurement – allowing room for 2 fingers to fit comfortably between the tape and your pup’s neck. Compare this measurement with our chart below to select the best fit for your pup.

If you’ve followed our How Are Dog Collars Measured? tutorial above and your pup’s neck measurement falls between two sizes, it’s best to order the larger size. All of our collars come standard with triglides making it easy to adjust for a smaller fit. However, if you’re really unsure, please Chat with Us about a custom size.

Similar to clothing sizes for people, there’s no such thing as “true-to-size” – every brand is going to be slightly different. Here at Sloth Pups, our collars and leads are cut and stitched by hand – so slight variations in sizes can occur. To help with this, we provide a How Are Dog Collars Measured? tutorial, easy-to-understand size guides and custom sizes for pup’s that are tricky to fit. We always recommend you take an accurate measurement before ordering, rather than relying on what breed your dog is.

Yes! Our standard size Large usually fits Great Danes, Wolfhounds, Rottweilers and other large breeds comfortably. Plus, you can always order a custom size that’s larger than 68cm if needed.
